Intermittent thoughts on painting and its effects on my life. My paintings are landscapes or interpretations inspired by the beauty and intrigue of nature - drawn mostly from places in Oklahoma (surprise!), New Mexico, Wyoming and Tennessee.
Sue, These are very beautiful! It looks like you've been extremely busy. I particularly liked the three paintings of the old adobe walls. Are you putting your work in galleries? If so, where?
Sue, this is great, I am so glad you are doing this. I have several favorites, I think the one with the trees coming up out of the water is my "most" favorite. Great job!

Sue! I'm so glad to have this site to send to friends/family. I enjoy bragging about your talents! I'm glad I had an opportunity to view your show... Always a fan, Ginger
Painting was a delightful discovery a few years before my retirement and I have become more serious about it in the last two years. Nature is my inspiration as well as elements of the built environment that inhabit the same space. Living in New Mexico for more than 30 years has etched its beauty and spirit indelibly in my soul. For my first show in 2008, I did a series of paintings - Discovering Oklahoma, 2007 - to celebrate the state's centennial. That exploration engendered a new sense of place in me, giving me infnite new landscapes to discover.
If you want to contact me directly about any of my paintings please email me at sschofield2@cox.net or call 405-447-2439.
